Introduction:
The Africa Children Initiative for Self – Empowerment (ACISE) is a local Not-For-Profit, Children, youth and Women Rights Based, a Civil Society and Community Based, Non-Political and Non-Governmental Organization with its Headquarters (HQ) in Zwedru, Gedeh County.
ACISE, is a 100% group of Liberians owned organization which is legally registered with the Government of Liberia (GOL) through its line ministries and agencies including the Liberia Business Registry (LBR), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance Development Planning (MFDP) and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
ACISE is the current Chair Organization of the Grand Gedeh County SGBV Secretariat under the Spotlight Initiative Project funded by the European Union and the United Nations, a strong member of the Grand Gedeh County GBV Taskforce and the Grand Gedeh County Education Sector Working Group as well as other community based working groups.
Capacity of Local NGO/CBO:
ACISE currently has a working force of 7 staff who are regularly volunteering to serve humanity through humility. These staffers including the Chief of Party (COP) are humanitarians and social workers who have worked with and for several INGOs and NGOs; but decided to support sustainability and ownership through this community based organization (CBO).
Target Group(s) and Focused Areas:
ACISE works to support women, youths, children, persons living with disabilities and the marginalized groups in the following thematic areas of Education/Training, GBV/Social Protection, Agriculture/Livelihood and Environmental/WASH with mainstreaming Good Governance in its regular programs and implementation of specific projects. Because of the current health threats, ACISE in collaboration with the ministries of Gender and Educations is creating voluntary awareness on the preventive and response measures on Covid-19.
Geographical Location:
ACISE currently works in Tchien and Cavalla Administrative Districts of Grand Gedeh County. In Tchien, ACISE works in Zwedru and its closest environs like the PTP Refugee Camp, Zeon Town, Kula Town; while in Cavalla ACISE works in the Niao and Gorho clans.
